Service Description

In this inspiring workshop, Laura Sky from the Story-garden invites you on a journey through an ancient European FairyTale, with Storytelling, Nature Mindfulness and Environmental Arts practices. First time tellers are welcome as are those who wish to deepen their exploration of the Landscape of Story; these practices can support personal growth as well as building skills to engage creatively with others. What you can expect from the workshop? Workshop suitable for 16+ We will follow the NatureWell session structure, starting each section with a grounding nature meditation. Laura will set the theme by telling her own version of The Twelve Wild Swans- an ancient European Tale in which the heroine becomes a Wild-woman and has to weave nettles into shirts to save her brothers from enchantment. Then there is time in the landscape to be in nature and explore how your imagination is moved by the story, find some natural materials to represent a chosen element in the story. We come together to share about our chosen objects and reflect on the elements that most inspired us. There are three activities in total and each time we use a grounding, exploration in the landscape/ creative activity and a reflection as a group to make this a full and nourishing story journey. We complete the session with an invitation to tell a short piece of story to the group inspired by the original Twelve Wild Swans.
